New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms

This is a ministry founded many years ago that gives a voice in Albany for the Biblical Conservative Christian. A very clear and well respected voice as well. But one person crying in the wilderness is often drowned out by all of the screaming from the opposition.

NYCF has an amazing web site clearly designed and easily navigated. They make it Easier than EVER to be active in the world of politics. If you have a passion to see the Christian Values you hold preserved in NY, you MUST take an active roll. Please check this site regularly to be informed on the issues facing our politicians daily. There are links that allow you to send letters to your representatives telling them of your view on these crucial issues.

Like "The Bathroom Bill"...

"GENDA would open all public accommodations, including restrooms, high school locker rooms, health clubs, dorm rooms and other single sex residential facilities like homeless and family violence shelters to both
biological genders dependent upon how a person chooses to self-identify.
"

If this bill is NOT STOPPED, a high school student can claim they view themselves as a woman - when they clearly are not - and be legally permitted to go into the girls locker room, and no one can stop him. Your imagination can take this to all of the places this could be frightening and down right perverse.

Also there is a place to actually get the information on who your representatives are. If you are anything like me, it seems a little daunting to keep up with all of this. Who should I contact for what? When is it needed to reach them by to be effective? This web site has taken all of the hard work out, and made it clear, simple and effective.

Click the brown box for the NYCF action center, and scroll down to enter your information to find out who actually represents your voice in Allbany... and then tell them what you think!!!

Oh the Joys...

Some people struggle with letting go of the familiar, comfortable, and "I am so used to it" way of life. I am not one of those people!

Great friends and family alike bemoan the advancing years of their children... I celebrate each birthday with joyful expectation of what new responsibility can I give them to lighten my load help them mature into responsible young people.

I know people who have not changed the arrangement of their living room furniture. Ever. Now, I understand some homes and larger pieces do present a challenge. But "press on!" I say. There is no room too small or sofa too large that a little creative shoving cannot give you a new and fresh look. Even if only for a few days.

I guess I am a self declared liker of change. If that is grammatically correct or not, I do not know. (Neither do I care!) All this is to preface ... There are Big Changes Ahead in my future!

First... DAN HAS FINISHED HIS THESIS! Thank You, Thank You THANK YOU Grandma Jane for all of your painstaking proof reading and MS Word tutoring! What an unselfish gift of love and time and expertise you have given. I might add you may have just spared our marriage! I now add "extensive time together on a computer" to the list of things we CANNOT do in the better interest of not expediting the whole "til death do us part" portion of our vows! Surprisingly, there is (to date!) only one other thing on the list. Wall papering. I am sure you understand!

And by the way, just in case you were wondering, the pages numbered 108. So sorry Dr. B!

Second... NSBI Graduation is TWO WEEKS AWAY!!! I wish that meant we would have time home every night with not a whole lot to do... alas what it means is the "back burner" list might actually see the light of day! We might even have company over!

Here is the notice that K8 2Mia made for us to send to his family and other co-workers etc.

Isn't she talented?! It looks Gr8! Consider this your formal invitation to come of you would like! There are 5 graduates and a guest preacher for the sermon. If nothing else, you can see my cutie pie hubby in a cap and gown! :) I know it will be a great evening.

"Onward Ho" to the next leg of the journey!

2009 thus far...

By the looks of my blog, one would think 2009 has been less than stellar. Au Contraire, mon amie. I have had time to breathe only fleetingly between other moments of "extreme life".

I feel to list things bullet point style might be just enough to keep things "documented" for lack of a better word ... which is/was my original motivation for blogging, but might also give me some perspective. To elaborate on all of this would be completely boring for you, and over whelming for me!

So, here goes!

~ Dan has his thesis done. WHEW! Still need to proof read, edit, index and formulate into a complete 80+ page document... but it is almost there!

~ Dan has a little more than three weeks til graduation. THREE WEEKS!!! I cannot tell you how I have been looking forward to this day!

~ Home Schooling is on schedule - the kids are looking to be done early June. If I could only get the quarterly reports done and into the district, all would be well!

~ I had an amazing get two+ day get away with a group of ladies who are the core of my Ladies prayer group. We did a prayer seminar with hands on application following each segment. It was a wonderful time of friendship, fellowship Great Food, and prayer. (HIGHLY recommend you listen to it! If you want it in all English, contact me for two cd's. I have edited them to dub out most of the Czech)

~Savannah had minor surgery on her eye to remove a veruca. Because she is little, they had her to a surgery center to put her under... first time for that. All went well, and her little eye has looked so good- no more problems!

~ Olivia is officially enrolled as a student at Word of Life Bible Institute for the 2009-2010 school year. We were so up in the air as to how to advise her with her future plans. She has no real compelling desire or direction of study, so we just kept praying for the Lord to guide her. She was unsure about going away- even the 5 hours up to Pottersville, NY- but God has really given her clear direction. We are thankful to know what she will be doing in the fall... even though we have no idea what the rest of us will be doing!

~ Molly, our little Havanese puppy, has generously donated once again to her maintenance and upkeep by delivering 4 adorable, healthy, little black puppies. We will sell them mid-june for a tiny furtune, and pay off what debt we still have before beginning deputation. God has provided abundantly for our needs, and we have been able to stay mostly unencumbered by debt. It is good to "live light" and be free to move as the Lord leads without hesitation. When we began this "journey to Zambia" back in '05, we had no idea we would still be on the preparation trail in '09. We are nearing the end of this leg of the journey, and I am so thankful for the gentle and yet clear and firm leading of God every step of this course.

Well, that is a good start... We still have so much that needs to be accomplished before we whole hesrtedly begin deputation. Like a ministry video... and a ministry pamphlet. All in good time... or better said all in God's time!
