Posting is fun ...for me!

Well!!! Would you believe all of the puppies are sold?! And in one day! What a huge blessing! They are cute and all, but I cannot say I will miss them. Three little puppies are work. Period. So that is the news on the puppies!

And, I missed mission Monday. No excuses. Just missed it.

As far as on a spiritual note...

I was in a meeting and the topic of dispensational salvation came up. Exactly how was one saved in Adams day? Faith? Works? A combination of both?

How about in Simeon's case? He saw the Messiah as was promised to him. Guess he didn't stay long in Abraham's bosom.

We know in our age, the church age, it is Grace through faith and not works lest any man should boast. But some say even our act of accepting that grace is counted as a work. Confusing.

And how about in the tribulation? The Great tribulation? Survive to the end, or die a Martyr's death for the faith. There is no more Grace alone there for sure.

And then the millennium. People must earn the right to the tree of life. Definitely works there, but grace to allow the tree to be eaten from? That God would still provide a way of Salvation is gracious and merciful.
Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

So many questions! Just some thinking!

Whew! In interest of recapturing those of you that are here for levity...!

In an email...(you know who you are!!) I was teasing saying a post should be done on the cute little things people can do with the keys of a keyboard. At church, there is a symbol for our men's prayer group that blogger couldn't do right because it always defaults to the margin, and won't allow spaces in the beginning. Bummer because it is a great keyboard logo! But in my search, I found some really fun ones... I think I need to tag my signature with one! So in lightheartedness... and in an effort to keep them all in a place I know they will be...!

By the way... I didn't type these all out! "Cut and paste" is my friend!

I don't want to start a fight, but at what point does the death of Christ become null and void- no longer needed? I have to disagree with you on some of those points.

In a loving way,though, of course. :0)

Gal. 2:16 - Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall NO FLESH be justified.

Jan - would you say this passage is just speaking to the church? If you say we are saved by works in the Old Testament, Trib. or Mill. Reign - then there would be flesh that is justified by the works of the law.

Can I tell you that because I use a PC, it deleted my own Comment! I will retype it all!

I was saying before my PC decided to hiccup...

I really had never had these questions posed in the way they were to me. I have always believed there is one way for Salvation, Jesus.

My questions arose from the scriptural basis they thought was proving the point. The Bible definitely has different time periods in it, and in those ages, salvation on this side of Heaven looks different.

In Moses day, he never had the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. He had to believe of a coming redeemer, right? So did some people in Abraham's bosom not believe? Or were they all there because God had chosen them to be there?

In the age of the tribulation, will those who die have a translation like us who may die before the rapture?

And in the age to come, when there is a tree of Life... what DOES that mean? That they may earn the right...?

I am just having some real questions! Anyone interested in helping me out... thanks!

Jan, first of all, I appreciate your use of the phrase, "Just Some Thinking."

On a side note, Romans 9:30-33 clarifies that the Old Testament saints were not saved by works. It even says there that because they thought salvation was by works, that it was their stumblingstone. Then, Romans 4 speaks of Abraham and his faith. Paul quotes Genesis and says that Abraham believed God and IT was counted unto him for rigteousness. Salvation in the old testament was received (by grace) through faith.

Now, the just shall live by faith. That is, a faith-ful man will demonstrate it by his walk, by showing works. The works are a result, not a cause of salvation. Without Christ's death, the faith-ful man could not be with God, so we have Abraham's bosom (so, I believe).

As for future time, I still have to believe that salvation is by grace through faith that manifests itself through works. God has different works for different people, but no work has nor will ever save - with One exception, of course, the Cross.

That's my two cents worth on the discussion for now :)

Just a thought...

Not really my own two cents but tonight in our Christian Maturity class we learned that there was a group of baptized believers; they had the Word of God in the Ten Commandments and a leader in Moses – this made up a church.

I Corinthians 10:1-4
Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; and did all eat the same spiritual meat; and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
