Blinded by the Light

Now that the spring is here full force and summer looming over the horizon, my kitchen table has so much more illumination! In the morning there is a bit of routine for me. After I get my cup 'o joe, I sit down to have some time in the Bible. I love having the heat of the sun on my back, and no need for the kitchen lights to be on because it is so bright on the pages. Similar to looking at a bright light or a camera flash, it is so intense on the white of my Bible that I often have blinded eyes if I look any where but on the words.

That got me thinking to the spiritual application of this. The truth of the word of God should illuminate my sight. I should allow it to be the brightest thing my eyes see, even blinding me to the things around me that maybe would cause me to doubt, stumble or be critical.

That I would trust God so much that I would not rely on my natural sight, but walk in the Light as He is in the Light.

That His word would be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

Just seeing those verses in a "new light" !
